Why the real number varies
- Extended tracks or medleys: a continuous blend counts as fewer "songs" in the strict sense, but covers the same duration.
- Speeches and activities: each one cuts into the time available for music by that much.
- Song styles: a 6-minute electronic track counts for almost two 3-minute pop songs.
