Chroma and timbre are extracted bar by bar to build a self-similarity matrix. The tool knows which chorus matches which, and only joins passages that are genuinely interchangeable.
Every join is aligned to a downbeat, then refined by cross-correlation over ±20 ms so the waveforms meet without a click or a phase jump.
Pick "exact duration" — tempo shifts by under 2% — or "original tempo": no stretching at all, and the final length lands on the nearest bar.

What to know before you adjust your first track.
Yes, and that's the default. The tool removes passages from the middle of the song and keeps the original intro and ending. Plain trimming, by contrast, chops the end off and leaves a track that stops dead.
